Dunelm is selling 'funky' £10 lamp that has 'colourful' surprise

Dunelm shoppers have been raving about a new calming lamp that's "fantastic" for adding extra atmosphere to any room. It's small but offers something that's got plenty of early fans of the item "obsessed" with the potential.

As the name implies, the Rainbow Projector Lamp is no ordinary light. For £10, it adds a "touch of magic" to any room by casting a "captivating" range of colours onto walls and ceilings.

Described by Dunelm bosses as having a "spellbinding effect", the ring becomes "even more enchanting the further away the lamp moves from the wall". It provides the "perfect ambience" to create a "dreamlike atmosphere" in any room.

The projecting lamp can be ordered online for click and collect (sometimes within two hours of ordering) or home delivery (within days). There are similar alternatives out there with other stores such as this Sunset Lamp Projection on Amazon with 16 modes (was £16.99, now £9.99) or this Rainbow USB Light from The Range for £4.99.

Despite being a new addition to Dunelm's online collection, the light has already received some glowing reviews from customers. One said: "Lovely little lamp that is so cute and the pastel shades [it] gives off are just right. Not bright, not over the top, just a calm feeling."

Another added: "Fantastic product, used as a night light by young daughter." A third wrote: "Obsessed! So cute. Great quality and adds such a nice atmosphere to my room."

Someone else said: "So good for the price! I love it, it adds a funky vibe to any room." But, there were some critics who had issues - mainly with finding a suitable power source and some who were not aware that the lamp only projects a single set of colours.

People pointed out in the reviews that the lamp is not powered by a traditional plug. Instead, it requires a USB port to gain electricity.

A shopper said: "Comes with USB plug only. Slight issue if you don't have USB plug sockets to plug it in. I'm using it through an Xbox [for now]. Awkward but still very pretty."

Someone else said: "A tiny lamp but really effective and gives the impression they there is a rainbow on the wall. Plug not included but can be bought anywhere."
