Selena Gomez Reveals the Nude Oscar de la Renta Gown She Wore to Taylor Swift’s Wedding

Taylor Swift played a special role at Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding last year, joining her longtime friend as she got ready for her ceremony. Now, Swift is the bride and Gomez is returning the favor. Gomez supported her friend on her big day. The wedding was on July 3, and Gomez was also at the intimate rehearsal dinner the night before. Photos shared by Gomez revealed that the Rare Beauty founder chose an Oscar de la Renta dress for Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding.

The sparkling nude gown featured a high scoop-neck and woven fabric set with crystals, with a body-hugging silhouette. She hung Chopard oval diamond earrings from her ears and wore her hair down with a side part.

She shared photos of the look in her Instagram Stories as well as some photos with her husband, Benny Blanco, who was in a black tux for the night.

Gomez also wore a sleeveless Oscar de la Renta gown with Jimmy Choo shoes for the rehearsal dinner.

Swift and Gomez have been friends since 2008. Shortly after Gomez got married in September, Swift spoke to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show about how emotional it was to see one of her dearest friends tie the knot.

“I got to see her be the most elegant, gorgeous, not only bride, but just vision that I’ve ever seen in my life,” she told the host. “I’ve never seen anything so beautiful as her on her wedding day. And she deserves all this happiness. Benny is—he’s him. He’s so funny. He’s the best.”

She then addressed reports that she made a speech at their reception. “So I did make a speech, but I actually made a point not to mention anything about my engagement,” she said. “Nobody wants you to be like, ‘Hey, I know this is your wedding day, but I’m [engaged]!’ You know, I was like, don’t mention it. Maybe turn it [the ring] around, you know what I mean? This is her day. I did do some light teasing about the way that we used to dress in 2008, the year that we met, because you know, we were teenagers and 2008 was quite a year, let me tell you. And so I talked a little about 2008, and I talked about how happy I am for her and just how beautiful it’s been to get to be a part of her life, but I did not make it about me.”

While the pair has kept some details about Gomez’s wedding private, the Only Murders in the Building actress shared a video of them together while she was getting her hair and makeup done. She wrote, “In honor of SHOWGIRL [Swift’s then-newly released album] .. blessed to have you by my side almost 20 years later gator! I love you @taylorswift forever and always.”
