Mariah the Scientist Takes Us Behind the Scenes of Her Golden Governors Ball Set

Get ready with me for Gov Ball 2026! I do my own makeup for my shows, so here I am putting on the final touches. Dhairius did my hair for the show.

My stylist Jaclyn Fleurant worked with Kim Shui on this custom look for my performance, and she also sourced the vintage Chanel shoes. The gold looked so beautiful onstage.

For my performances, I have two male dancers with me onstage who act as my toy soldiers—we always coordinate. I worked with my styling team to design these latest looks. The toy soldier concept runs throughout my latest album, Hearts Sold Separately, so it only made sense to bring it to the stage.

My wardrobe assistant Ines Benmansour did such a great job creating this custom tassel hat for my performance. She sourced the tassels and colored it to perfection. The gloves were custom as well.
