During a X Spaces broadcast on April 27, Cardi made several comments about being in a new relationship but didn’t share her partner’s identity. “When you got a gorgeous [man] loving you from head to toe, it’s like I don’t really give a fuck what anybody says,” she told listeners.
On May 5, Cardi and Diggs were seen heading into a Met Gala after-party seconds apart after attending the annual fashion event separately.
One week later, the couple made their first official public appearance at game 4 of the Knicks-Celtics playoff series. They arrived at Madison Square Garden holding hands and sat courtside with other celebrities including Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, Kendall Jenner, and Mary J. Blige.
They were affectionate during the game. Cardi touched Diggs’s face, and Diggs placed an arm around her at one point.
Cardi shared a clip of her nails and jewelry on her Instagram Stories but avoided posting photos of Diggs.

On June 1, Cardi made her relationship with Diggs Instagram official, sharing a carousel that included an affectionate yacht photo of the couple and a video of her dancing on his lap. She also posted images of teddy bears, a diamond-stacked wrist, and a large bouquet of red roses, suggesting the items were gifts from Diggs. She captioned the shot, “Chapter 5 ……Hello Chapter six.”
Diggs shared his own Instagram post featuring a photo of the two courtside at the Knicks game with the caption, “to the month of May, I appreciate you none the less… gotta stay focused 🤞🏾.”
On September 16, Cardi told the Today show that she “would get married again" and called herself “a hopeless romantic.” The following day, she announced that she’s expecting her fourth child and her first with Diggs.
“I’m excited. I’m happy,” she told CBS Mornings. “I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong, I feel very powerful that I’m doing all this work—but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.”
She went on to say that Diggs has made her feel “very safe” and “very confident,” especially as she geared up to release her September 19 album, Am I the Drama?.
“Two weeks ago, I was literally having a panic attack. I was like crying and crying and crying just because I was just getting really nervous with, you know, the whole album rollout,” she admitted. “People were coming at me very hard. You know, sometimes people love you, people hate you. And people was just saying very mean things about me.”
She said Diggs helped her “get it together” and work through it. “It makes you feel like you can take over the world,” she added.
