A Source Addresses If Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas Are Actually Dating

Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise set off dating rumors when they were photographed out at London Heliport together on Friday, March 14. A source clarified to People today that while the two actors are spending time together, they are not romantically involved. They’re actually about to work together.

During their Friday excursion, director Doug Liman was with them, the source said. The name of their project and any additional details about it have not come out yet.

De Armas and Cruise were first seen together on February 13. Days later, de Armas was photographed holding hands with her rumored boyfriend, Manuel Anido Cuesta, in Madrid—a move that shut down Tom Cruise dating speculation.

Over the past few years, de Armas has kept her love life pretty private, especially after her very public romance with Ben Affleck in 2020. (He had a cardboard cut-out of her that he was photographed throwing out after their breakup, in just one example of how intense their relationship was.)

In 2022, de Armas told ELLE that the attention on her relationship with Affleck was “horrible.” But in the long term, that was “good,” because it became “one of the reasons why I left L.A.”

She added, “Going through it [myself] confirmed my thoughts about, ‘This is not the place for me to be.’ It became a little bit too much. There’s no escape. There’s no way out. It’s always the feeling of something that you don’t have, something missing. It’s a city that keeps you anxious.” She had moved to New York by the time of the interview.

The actress later confirmed she had bought a house in rural Vermont during a September 2024 E! interview. “I found a home where I really feel off the grid,” she said. “I can collect myself and only bring there who I want to be with. I have my little cocoon there.”
