Poland explosion: Mystery over bizarre blast that rocked homes overnight

Poland: Explosion rocks cornfield after mysterious object crashes
Investigators have been left baffled after an unidentified object crashed into a cornfield in Poland last night.
The object is said to have fallen into a field in the village of Osiny in Lukow County in western Poland, which is more than 75 miles from the country's eastern border with Ukraine.
After crashing, the object exploded - with the force of the blast shattering the windows of three homes in its radius, according to local reports.
Terrifying video from a neighbour's surveillance camera captured the moment the explosion rocked the sleepy Polish town.
One witness said they were awoken to a "loud bang" that shook the windows of their home.
They returned to bed until they saw the lights of police cars as officers arrived to investigate.
"I was woken by a loud bang that shook the windows. I looked outside but couldn't see anything. It wasn't until the morning that I noticed the lights of police cars," the witness told Łuków.TV.
The outlet reported that the explosion had left a crater at the scene.
"Furthermore, an object resembling a propeller was found among the debris," the website reported.
A large emergency response is said to be present at the scene, with firefighters also on site. A cordon is also in place.
Lukow police representative Marcin Jozwik told Polish broadcaster TVN24: "In a corn field, we found burnt items of various sizes scattered over a radius of several dozen meters. These are burnt metal and plastic fragments."
Mr Jozwik added that officers were still scouring the area for further evidence and debris.
Lukow TV added that authorities were waiting for the Polish military to arrive before providing further details.
Thankfully, police said no one was injured as a result of the blast.
Since the outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian war back in February 2022, Russian and Ukrainian projectiles have crossed into the airspace of Poland and other NATO countries.
In 2022, two people were killed in eastern Poland when a Ukrainian S-300 air defence missile went off course during an attack against Russia.
