Parents given 'risk of death' warning as cot sold on Amazon urgently recalled

A popular portable cot has been urgently recalled, with stark warnings to parents that there is a 'risk of serious injury or death'.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission [ACCC] recalled the 5-in-1 nursery center portable cot, which functions as a bassinet, bed, sleeper, baby crib, activity centre and changing table. The cot, currently being sold on Amazon and Costway Wholesale, presents an entrapment and suffocation hazard, posing a risk of serious injury or death if an infant is placed inside the product.
The ACCC stated: "This product doesn't comply with the mandatory standard for infant sleep products.
"Risk of serious injury or death from entrapment or suffocation. An incident has occurred."
Parents are advised to check the model number or SKU on their products to see if it matches SKU: BB0505. If you purchased a portacot with the recalled SKU number, you should stop using the product immediately.
You can then return it to the original place of purchase to arrange a free replacement.
Meanwhile, a baby snow suit has also been pulled from shelves due to a dangerous defect.
The quilted snow suits, available in pink florals and cream bears, have been sold nationally online and in-store at Best and Less between April 16 and June 11.
The suits have been recalled owing to a fault in the snap fasteners, which can detach during use. Children face a risk of death or serious injury from choking should the snap fastener detach from the snowsuit and be swallowed.
The following SKUs have been recalled: 1922326, 1922327, 1922328, 1922329, 1922330, 1922331 1922334, 1922335, 1922336, 1922337, 1922338, and 1922339.
Shoppers have been advised to immediately stop using the snowsuits and ensure they are kept well out of children's reach.
Affected customers are able to return the snowsuits to any Best and Less store, where a full refund will be provided.
