Iran war LIVE: Trump says 'clock is ticking' and shares image of him pressing nuke button

US President Donald Trump has again threatened Iran shortly before posting an image of him hitting a big, red button.
The US and Iran have been in conflict since February 28. The two countries have not agreed upon a long-term solution to end the war that has rocked global markets and disrupted the Middle East.
Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Sunday, May 17: "For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! President DJT"
This was followed hours later by an AI image of the US leader pushing what appears to be a nuclear button, while mushroom-shaped plumes are shown on screens behind Trump.
This is an ongoing event and updates will be provided.
Trump also posted an image of a Middle East map.
The map is covered by a US flag, with arrows pointing to Iran.
Trump did not provide context for the image posted on Truth Social.

A senior Pakistani minister has flown to Iran to "faciliate" peace talks between the US and Iran, semi-official Iranian media reports.
Naqvi met with his Iranian counterpart to try and revive peace negotiations, the Tasnim news agency reported.
Trump posted what appears to be an AI-generated image of himself.
In the image he is seen pushing a big, red button while plumes of mushroom-shaped clouds rise on screens in the background.
