Şanlıurfa-based fraud operation: 41 people arrested

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 41 of the 84 suspects who were detained on the allegation that they defrauded 116 citizens by introducing themselves as public officials in 25 provinces, centered in Şanlıurfa , were arrested.
In his post on his social media account, Yerlikaya stated that the work was carried out by the Şanlıurfa Police Department Public Security Branch Directorate in coordination with the Şanlıurfa and Akçakale Public Prosecutor's Offices and the General Directorate of Security Public Security Department.
41 PEOPLE ARRESTED
Stating that operations were carried out against suspects who were detected to have defrauded 116 citizens by introducing themselves as public officials in Hatay, Balıkesir, İstanbul , Kocaeli, Sakarya, Edirne, Bursa, Bilecik, Çanakkale, İzmir, Isparta, Manisa, Mersin, Adana, Batman, Diyarbakır, Hakkari, Van, Ankara, Kırıkkale, Elazığ, Erzurum, Mardin and Gaziantep, based in Şanlıurfa, Yerlikaya noted that 41 of the 84 suspects who were taken into custody were arrested and judicial control decisions were issued for 43 of them.
Minister Yerlikaya congratulated the Şanlıurfa and Akçakale Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and the police officers who coordinated the operation, and said, " Together with our security forces, we continue our fight against criminal networks and illegal organizations that defraud our citizens."
