He entered the water to cool off: The young man was swept away by the current and died
The incident occurred in the Amik Castle area of Yeşilsu Neighborhood in Tuşba district. According to the information obtained, 14-year-old BY, who entered the lake with his friends at around 15:00, was suddenly swept away by the current. Upon notification, AFAD, UMKE, 112 Emergency Health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. BY, who was pulled from the water as a result of the teams' intense efforts, was taken by ambulance to Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Dursun Odabaş Medical Center. Despite all interventions here, the child could not be saved. BY's body was sent to the Van Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
