AK Party offers Ashura to citizens in Konya
The AK Party Konya Provincial Presidency came together with members of the organization and citizens at the Ashura program organized on the occasion of the month of Muharram. The program organized in front of the organization building was attended by AK Party Konya Provincial Chairman Fatih Özgökçen, AK Party Konya Deputy Latif Selvi, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, district mayors, members of the organization and many citizens. After the prayer, the Ashura cauldrons were opened and President Fatih Özgökçen and protocol members congratulated the guests on the month of Muharram.
Speaking at the program, AK Party Konya Provincial Chairman Fatih Özgökçen drew attention to the spiritual importance of aşure and said, "The month of Muharram is the month of sharing, solidarity, brotherhood and being together. With the aşure treat we have made here today, we wanted to both keep this tradition alive and strengthen our spiritual unity with our fellow citizens. I would like to thank everyone who participated and on this occasion, I congratulate the entire Islamic World and our valuable fellow citizens on the holy month of Muharram." The program ended with the aşure treat.
