Terrible accident in Çanakkale! 8 dead, 20 injured

The accident occurred at around 13:00 on the Çanakkale-Ezine highway.

A passenger bus belonging to Truva Turizm, a truck loaded with logs and a car were involved in a pileup. Police, fire and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

According to initial findings, 8 people lost their lives and 20 people were injured in the accident, the statement said, adding that the injured were sent to hospitals and an investigation was launched into the accident.

Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc made a statement on his social media account regarding the chain traffic accident that occurred in Canakkale. Minister Tunc said, "I wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in the chain traffic accident that occurred in Canakkale and a speedy recovery to our injured citizens. A judicial investigation has been launched by our Ezine Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the accident and 2 public prosecutors have been assigned. The investigation is being carried out meticulously."
