Schools reopen! Istanbul traffic is blocked

Following the start of the new academic year in Istanbul, school buses began their morning commute. According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) traffic density map, traffic density in Istanbul reached 62% as of 8:30 a.m.
Traffic on the July 15th Martyrs Bridge extended to Uzunçayır, and on the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge to Kozyatağı, a vehicle breakdown in the Elmalı area of Beykoz also increased traffic congestion in the area. Traffic on the D-100 highway, which begins in Kartal Cevizli and continues towards Edirne, continues to Bostancı, Kozyatağı, Göztepe, Uzunçayır, and the entrance to the Eurasia Tunnel.
In the opposite direction, traffic is occasionally heavy in the Uzunçayır and Göztepe regions, while it is heavy between Bostancı and Maltepe and flows smoothly between Kartal and Pendik.
There is heavy traffic on the TEM Highway from Sancaktepe to the Çamlıca toll booths and Altunizade.
Density on the Anatolian side rose to 76 percent
On the European side, vehicles are moving slowly in the areas of Avcılar, Yenibosna, Zeytinburnu, Cevizlibağ, the Golden Horn Bridge, Çağlayan, Okmeydanı and Mecidiyeköy on the D-100 highway towards Ankara.
Vehicles are moving slowly in the Bahçeşehir and Gaziosmanpaşa areas of the TEM Highway towards Ankara.
On the other hand, those who want to go to work and school using public transportation cause congestion at metro, metrobus and bus stops where transfers are made frequently.
According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Pocket Traffic Map, early morning traffic density in the city was measured at 62 percent. While density on the European side was around 53 percent, it rose to 76 percent on the Anatolian side.
