New contract signed with Vincenzo Montella

The contract of National Football Team Coach Vincenzo Montella has been extended for 2 years.

The ceremony held at the TFF Hasan Doğan National Teams Camp and Training Facilities was attended by Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu , TFF Board members and Italian coach Montella.

Hacıosmanoğlu, who made a statement here, said that they believe they will achieve important successes with Montella. Stating that Montella has adopted Türkiye, Hacıosmanoğlu said, "Our coach was the head of the National Team before us. We continue in the same way after we came. He is Italian but we talk sometimes, he has become Turkish like us and adopted it. His daughter watched the match with her friends at the school she studies at during the USA match and made her friends wear the Turkey jersey. Her joy after the match was like Mehmet's daughter in Trabzon. They were happy in the same way. This shows that we can make Montella a Turkish citizen soon. He has made important contributions to the establishment of this young team. He has established a very nice college atmosphere with the children, a family environment. They love the coach very much too. We believe that there will be success where there is love."

MONTELLA: "WE AIM TO REACH BIG DREAMS"

Coach Vincenzo Montella stated that their full concentration is on participating in the World Cup .

Montella stated that they aim to do the best every time and said:

"We have been here for less than 2 years and during this time, as far as I know, we have watched 689 matches from the stadiums. Carrying out these works with my team has allowed us to achieve many firsts, they have provided us with these opportunities. We went to the European Championship after 16 years, we came out of the group as the leader for the first time there. We won against Germany on their own soil after 72 years. We were able to achieve these with the efforts of everyone. Our minds are completely on the World Cup Qualifiers. We are in one of the most difficult groups. We know that we have to do our best every time. Spain is a very strong team. Georgia beat Portugal. Bulgaria is also constantly aiming for the best. All our concentration is on the qualifiers. We aim to achieve the big dreams we want by giving the best performance."

Montella, who expressed his happiness about the agreement, said, "I am very touched. I am happy and proud that we reached such an agreement. Since the day I took office on September 21, I have thought that I started on a special date. It was my deceased father's birthday. So I always thought that I took office on a very meaningful day. I would like to start by thanking the president and the board of directors in particular."

Montella, who stated that President Hacıosmanoğlu and his characters are very similar, continued as follows:

"I saw that we were on the same page about the action, working hard behind the scenes, not too much in the public eye. I can happily say that we have a friendship. I see him as a friend. I saw that everything is easier when there are positive people who believe in you. I would especially like to thank the football players, they helped us establish a family atmosphere. They fought with all their hearts on the field and made us proud. We achieved this all together. We have achieved many firsts since the day we arrived. We were able to achieve all of them because we walked on this path together with people who have the right values."

Montella thanked his technical team and said, "Everyone has worked devotedly until now. I have always loved working with people within the club when I worked at the club. When I arrived, I really wanted to work with such a mixed team. I would also like to thank coach Selçuk (Şahin), he has contributed a lot to us. I wish him the best. Of course, we will fill the gap for coach Selçuk with a different name, but even though they suggested names, I would like to thank our management for giving me the right to choose. I will do my best to do my best as always."

Montella expressed his gratitude to the fans for their support and stressed that constructive criticism should be made until the World Cup.

GULER AND CALHANOGLU'S ANSWER

Montella stated that continuing this project as a National Team coach is his biggest dream, and that he has been experiencing his emotions more comfortably since the day he came to Türkiye and that there is no strategy behind this.

Montella, who emphasized that Arda Güler can perform in every position in Real Madrid, touched upon the importance of his players being happy regarding Hakan Çalhanoğlu's transfer claims.

Montella concluded his remarks as follows:

"Of course I would like Turkish citizenship, but I know I need to learn Turkish. Be careful when you speak Turkish when I am with you because I am starting to understand. There were a few offers, but they were not very important to me. Even if there are other offers at a place where you are working properly, it will not affect you too much or even make you think. I prefer to be where I am happy. I have made a few mistakes in the past. I prefer to be where there is development and happiness. We are evaluating a few profiles for assistant coaches. We think that there should be someone who is honest and contributes to the family environment. We are currently evaluating."
