Argentinian living legend Lionel Messi provided another masterclass, scoring twice as Inter Miami beat Nashville SC 2-1.
With this performance, the star player extended his consecutive double-goal streak to five consecutive MLS matches, setting a new league record. Manager Javier Mascherano heaped praise on Messi, while also addressing growing concerns about his workload:
"Of course, we're monitoring the situation daily and having constant discussions with him. We'll find the right time to give him a break. What he's doing is incredible, breaking records every three days. He's the standard bearer for this team, our leader, and he sets the standard for how we compete. It's truly a blessing to be a part of this stage of his career..."
