Gürsel Aksel Stadium is expanding in Göztepe!

The capacity of Gürsel Aksel Stadium, which hosts the home matches of Göztepe, a Super League team, was increased once again at the beginning of this season.

The total spectator capacity of Gürsel Aksel Stadium, whose foundations were laid in 2017 on the site of the club's Gürsel Aksel Facilities and which was put into service with the Beşiktaş match on January 26, 2020, was increased from 20,756 to 23,376 in approximately 4.5 years.

Renovations completed earlier this summer resulted in the installation of extra seating in the east, north, south, and visitors' stands. Capacity was increased with the addition of portable stands behind the goalposts and above the marathon stands.

A total of 2,620 more seats were installed at Gürsel Aksel Stadium. Göztepe's VIP stand was also expanded, and last year, the stadium was supplemented with an additional box.

The stadium made its debut with its increased capacity during last week's match against Fenerbahçe.
