Deadpool's team in the Championship: Reynolds-owned Wrexham make history

Reynolds highlighted his goals in a lengthy message after securing the Championship.

"I said in my first press conference that our aim was the Premier League and they laughed at me. And they were right because what we were dreaming of was crazy. Now we're making history. We've won three consecutive promotions. Welshmen are said to have 'the soul of a poet and the fist of a warrior'. That's what I love about this place," Reynolds said.

It is a prestigious position for famous actors to be shareholders in a club, but unlike many, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Wrexham take an active role in the club's management.

The duo purchased Wrexham for just $2.5 million in 2021.

The team was in the 3rd league at that time.

After changing hands, Wrexham became champions of the 3rd league, promoted from the 2nd league to the 1st league and now promoted to the Championship League.

Wales are the first team in English history to achieve three consecutive promotions.

Founded in 1864, Wrexham is among the oldest clubs in the world with a history spanning 161 years.
