Archie Brown: It was impossible to say no to Fenerbahçe

Fenerbahçe, continuing its preparations for the new season with a training camp in Portugal, defeated Portimonense 2-1 in its first friendly match. Following the match, Fenerbahçe's new signing, English footballer Archie Brown, spoke to the press.
The 23-year-old, who stated that they've made a good start, said, "Frankly, I think I gave my best on the field today. I played aggressively to help my team. As you can appreciate, I'm going through a transition period because I'm new here. I need to learn my teammates. I need to learn their playing styles. To do that, we need to play together. We started off positively today. Of course, there's a lot of room for improvement. I think I'll be able to reach those points step by step as time goes on."
'EVERYONE IS BEHAVIORALLY FRIENDLY'When asked about his closeness with Jayden Oosterwolde, Brown said, "Jayden and I have had a good rapport since the first moment I got here. So I can say that. But it's not just Jayden; everyone is very friendly. Everyone is approachable. This friendship you develop makes your job on the field easier. Of course, I think this rapport can help the team. Of course, we want a championship. This solidarity and communication between us will be very helpful on our way to the championship."
'IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO SAY NO TO FENERBAHÇE'Archie Brown, who expressed his great feeling about joining Fenerbahçe, said, "I truly feel great. I'm deeply loved here. When you feel loved and wanted, it's easier to make decisions. You know Türkiye. You know how passionate the fans are and how much people care about football. When I came here, I felt that passion from our fans. I had a meeting with our president (Ali Koç) and Devin Özek. Through these conversations, I realized how much I was wanted. They told me there would be competition. Competition is important to me. There's a big project underway. I wanted to be a part of this competition and project. Of course, I was very much wanted. These meetings and the things I mentioned were the main reasons I came here. I'm not saying I didn't feel this way at other clubs, but I felt it even more at Fenerbahçe. That's why I chose this place. I'm a player who loves to compete. Every match will be important for us this year. I'll give it my all. There were other options, but it's impossible to say no to Fenerbahçe." "It wasn't. Because I felt really wanted. Istanbul is a really beautiful city. We want to continue to improve as a team," he concluded.
