US Approves $225 Million Missile Sale to Türkiye

The Defense Security and Cooperation Agency (DSCA), an agency affiliated with the U.S. Department of Defense, has approved the sale of air-to-air missiles worth a total of $225 million to Türkiye. The sale was also officially accepted by the U.S. State Department.
Within the scope of the agreement, Türkiye will receive the following for use in F-16 fighter jets:
53 AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM (Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile) and 6 guidance units,
60 AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II missiles and 11 guidance units will be provided.
The total value of the weapons systems was reported to be $145.9 million for the AMRAAM missiles and $79.1 million for the Sidewinder missiles. The sale aims to strengthen Türkiye's air defense capacity.
