The mystery that has remained unsolved for 47 years: Is the source of the WOW! signal alien?

The signal, discovered in 1977 at the Big Ear Observatory in Ohio and recorded by astronomer Jerry Ehman with the note "WOW!", is back in the spotlight.
According to the Daily Mail, experts announced that in new analyses conducted decades later, this mysterious radio wave was much stronger than previously estimated and its source still remained unclear.
It took 72 seconds
The radio waves in question attracted attention for their extraordinary strength and their continuous duration of 72 seconds. Furthermore, the fact that the signal was detected in the frequency band emitted by hydrogen, the most abundant element in the universe, raised the possibility that it could be a deliberate communication attempt, according to some experts. In a recent study led by Professor Abel Méndez of the University of Puerto Rico, 75,000 pages of data recorded at the observatory were digitized. The researchers revealed that the signal was four times stronger than previously thought, and also ruled out the possibility that the source came from some celestial bodies previously considered. NATURAL EXPLANATIONS ARE INSUFFICIENT
The new analysis showed that the signal could not have been a signal from a television station, satellites, or the Moon. It was also determined that the Sun was not active enough to have caused such an explosion at the time. These findings strengthen the possibility that the signal originated from outside the Solar System. THE POSSIBILITY OF ALIENS STILL ON THE TOP
While scientists haven't completely ruled out the possibility that the signal was sent by aliens, they believe the most likely possibility is a natural explosion caused by energy from a magnetar star hitting hydrogen clouds. Despite this, the researchers emphasize that the mystery of the Wow! signal remains unresolved.
