Spotify's Discover Weekly section gets new customization option

Spotify's Weekly Discovery list, which was launched 10 years ago and is still in use, can now be customized. The playlist can be customized according to music genres if desired.

For those who don't know, this Weekly Discovery list had a structure that suggested new tracks or similar songs from the user's listening habits, groups or artists they followed. However, songs that users listened to once or sometimes never listened to/will never listen to could be added to this list. In order to prevent this, it will now be possible to choose music genres.

The feature is only available to Spotify Premium subscribers.

According to official data, Weekly Discovery playlists have been listened to more than 100 billion times in 10 years. The reason for the update was complaints from users.

In addition, Spotify has also updated its cover art. These steps come as Spotify's effort to make the platform a more customizable place.
