Postpones the meta language model

Meta Platforms is delaying the release of its new, large language model, Behemoth, which the company’s engineers have been working to improve its capabilities, according to the Wall Street Journal. The model was originally scheduled to be released in April, so that it could coincide with Meta’s LLamaCon conference for developers. It was later expected to be released in June, according to people familiar with the matter. However, sources said the model is planned for release in the fall or later. Meta executives have never publicly stated when Behemoth will be released. During the company’s first-quarter earnings call on April 30, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Behemoth is primarily used as a way for Meta to produce leaner, more efficient AI models for the public. He said it was still on track, but did not give a timeline.
