Attention iPhone users! Countdown for iOS 18.5: Here are all the details...

Apple continues to offer features on both security and innovation sides with new software updates. The company released the first beta version of iOS 18.5 on April 2, the second beta version on April 14, and the third beta version on April 21. iOS 18.5 RC version (probably the last beta) was released on May 6. So when will iOS 18.5, which has gone through three beta processes, be available for general use?
The updates the company has actually offered in previous years give us a clue on this subject. iOS 17.5 was released on May 13, 2022, iOS 16.5 on May 18, 2023, and iOS 15.5 on May 16, 2022. In previous years, we see new versions released in the same week of May. Now that iOS 18.5 RC has been released, the update will probably be released for everyone on May 13-14.
WHAT'S NEW IN iOS 18.5
iOS 18.5 doesn’t bring any major updates to your phone. If that’s not a surprise, iOS 18.5 will be a minor update that focuses mostly on bug fixes and performance improvements.
There are some notable changes to the Mail app in iOS 18.5, though. Last year, iOS 18.2 introduced a redesign for the Mail app, which included a categorization system and larger contact photos and icons. With iOS 18.5, Apple added a new feature to the Mail app that lets you disable the new contact photos design. To find this menu, tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the app, then turn off the “Show Contact Photos” option. Previously, you had to go to the Settings app to make this change. iOS 18.5 also makes the “All Mail” view in the Mail app more visible.
Finally, iOS 18.5 will make AppleCare information more prominent in the Settings app so you can see your iPhone 's warranty information at a glance. In addition to these changes, Apple's official release notes confirm some other changes coming to iPhone users with iOS 18.5.
When your child uses their phone, a notification for the Screen Time passcode is now displayed. On the Apple Vision Pro side, we fixed an issue where the app would display a black screen. Support for carrier-provided satellite features is now available on iPhone 13 (all models).
Following iOS 18.5, Apple will begin beta testing iOS 18.6 in May, which is also expected to be a minor update, but what's more exciting is that the first iOS 19 beta will be released to developers in June.
