What will the opposition do as the moment of decision approaches?

The process Türkiye has been discussing for months began 11 months ago with Devlet Bahçeli's handshake with members of the Democratic Nationalist Movement Party (DEM). It gained strength with Erdoğan's support and advanced with Öcalan's call. The process, centered on resolving the country's most pressing problem, is currently being carried out by the İmralı Delegation and the Commission.
Considering Israel's actions in Gaza and the developments in Syria, it's clearer that this issue hasn't left Bahçeli and Erdoğan's minds. They acted primarily based on how to maintain their power in the new situation, and formulated their strategy accordingly.
ENOUGH TRAILER!It's no coincidence that Erdoğan constantly talks about a "Turkish, Arab, and Kurdish Alliance" in the Middle East , or that he announces his new alliance as the AKP-MHP-DEM, just as it's no coincidence that Bahçeli says, "Let one of the vice presidents be an Alevi." Meanwhile, it's also worth paying attention to the upcoming Alevi initiative.
Similarly, the suspension order issued against the CHP Istanbul Provincial Administration, the increasing number of girls' high schools, the opening of co-educational education to debate, more explicit interventions in women's attire, the topics covered in Friday sermons, the fight over the idea of a republic, and the investigations launched to lay siege to universities have all begun to make the news. Just like headlines like the plundering of nature, the gang-building within the judiciary, and the mafia's introduction into our lives as a legitimate entity.
All of these seemingly independent issues, presented to us individually, are connected to one another. Each serves as a building block for the new structure that will emerge. No matter what issue we face today, from education and healthcare to the economy and the judiciary, we are actually dealing with the construction of a new regime, championed by Erdoğan and Bahçeli.
Even just looking at what's been happening in the country and the region over the past year, we can easily see what awaits us and where the Erdoğan-Bahçeli-led government is leading us. The People's Alliance, drawing strength from US-Israeli policies, believes it can permanently change the regime in the country and is trying to drag the country down this path at full speed.
WHEN WILL THE MHP LEAVE?When one system collapses and a new one is established, tension doesn't just arise between the ruling party and the opposition. Conflict between the ruling blocs is also inevitable. Just like what's happening in Turkey's judiciary today. The AKP-MHP tension is constantly being discussed, based on the operations carried out in the last two weeks.
When addressing the main opposition party, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Öcalan consistently showers Devlet Bahçeli with praise. From the peace process to the country's democratization, and from there to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality investigations, Bahçeli has become the interlocutor. It's even surprising that the Bahçeli we know is the same person as the Bahçeli we're talking about these days.
First and foremost, it's crucial to say this: Discussing Bahçeli and Erdoğan in isolation would completely fail to understand the new regime construction we're discussing above. It's simply unwise to expect, or pin hopes on, two figures who have agreed on the core issue (at least for now) and have made progress on it, to split over some minor issues. The Presidential System of Government was created with Erdoğan and Bahçeli in mind. That's why it's called the "Turkish-style presidency." That's why today, the public debate is that both Erdoğan and Bahçeli, as well as the regime, are outdated. This debate has even been given a name: "Post-Erdoğan."
Without both, there can be no regime. Let me say something further: They cannot complete the construction of the new regime they've begun today. Therefore, there's no point in pursuing empty dreams. Neither the mafia, its revelations, nor those who support it will benefit this country.
CAN WE ACHIEVE THIS?As Özge Güneş wrote in her column in our newspaper yesterday, the old world is collapsing with a great crash, shattering its surroundings. It's unclear what the new will bring. While much darker days await us, we also have a chance to steer the course of history on the right course. This situation unfolding globally also applies to Turkey. The upheaval globally is being experienced in Türkiye as the most significant rupture in the history of the Republic. The country is heading towards a rupture, not just a passing remark, but a literal one. This is a fork in the road that will take several generations to repair or reverse. Standing in the right place at this moment in history is undoubtedly invaluable. But it's also clear that it won't be enough. The only option that can pull the country back from this abyss is the organized power of the people. This may seem difficult and unrealistic to those who entrust politics to a few individuals at the top. On the contrary, it's the only real solution with a chance of success. At a time when the overwhelming majority of the country has broken with the government, trust in Erdoğan and Bahçeli is waning, and dissatisfaction with the administration is palpable, no better solution can be found.
Yes, Turkey, along with the rest of the world, has entered a period of upheaval. Those in power have no choice but the familiar. Yet, millions of young people and women dream of a different world.
Now the question is: Is it wiser to watch those who enter a match set up by the government, the outcome of which is already known before it even begins, wondering "will it happen this time?" or to pursue a dream of our own with those who say "we have a say now too"?
The decision made by the social opposition forces will affect not only their own fate but also the course of the country.
The entire opposition must act responsibly, far beyond personal and group interests. Success is more possible than it was yesterday, because millions are waiting for such a call.
