Commission discussions regarding the peace process are ongoing. Reactions to the intervention in Kurdish within the commission are also ongoing. The Peace Foundation stated to the parliamentary commission that preventing the Peace Mothers from speaking Kurdish violates the spirit of the process. In its statement, it emphasized that everyone should be able to express themselves freely.
Meanwhile, the Democratic People's Party (DEM) will hold a rally in Van today. Party members, calling on everyone to attend, said, "The rally is also a call for the government to take action."
As preparations were being finalized for the rally to be held at Musa Anter Park at 5:00 PM, DEM Party Provincial Co-Chair Gülşen Kurt said, “We are going through a historic period. With the ‘Call for Peace and a Democratic Society’ on February 27th, we are continuing our work in every field. Since the people of Van first voiced their call for peace, our party and institutions have met with the public in every field. We have discussed the process with our people in meetings and received their suggestions. This process is a historic one. For the last 50 years, the Kurdish people have demonstrated their existence to the world through their struggle. We will work to build a democratic life in every area and on every street. Therefore, we invite all our people to this building rally.”
Meanwhile, a meeting was held in Muş regarding the process. Muş Municipality Co-Mayor Tuba Sayılğan stated that the state must also take the necessary steps for democracy and peace. The meeting emphasized the need to set aside personal interests.
