A wave of high-level appointments in the Ministry of Health and Forensic Medicine

The appointment and dismissal decisions, signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, were announced in the Official Gazette dated August 8, 2025. Numerous changes of duty were made within the Ministry of Health and the Forensic Medicine Institute.
According to the decision, Mehmet Koç, Deputy Director General of Health Investments at the Ministry of Health, was dismissed. Burkay Şimşek was appointed to the vacant position. Additionally, Alparslan Kürşat Hacımustafaoğlu was appointed to the vacant Deputy Director General of Public Hospitals position at the Ministry of Health.
Notable new appointments have also been made at the Forensic Medicine Institute. Istanbul Esenyurt University faculty member Prof. Dr. Ahmet Murat Bülbül has been appointed to the Forensic Medicine Second Specialization Board in Orthopedics and Traumatology. Health Sciences University faculty member Ali Ekrem Adıyaman has been appointed to the Forensic Medicine Third Specialization Board in Brain and Neurosurgery.
Prof. Dr. Mahmut Gümüş, a faculty member at Istanbul Medeniyet University, was appointed as a member of the Medical Oncology Department of the Seventh Specialization Board of Forensic Medicine; Muhammed Emin Boylu, a faculty member at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa, was appointed as a member of the Mental Health and Diseases Department of the Fourth Specialization Board of Forensic Medicine; and Hüseyin Sarı, a faculty member at Istanbul Atlas University, was appointed as the head of the Eighth Specialization Board of Forensic Medicine.
In addition, Health Sciences University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Osman Ekinci was appointed as a member of the Forensic Medicine First Specialization Board in Anesthesiology and Reanimation.
The appointment decisions signaled a new structure within the institutions, with the appointment of individuals who will serve in the fields of health and forensic medicine.
