Tragic news from Yeşilçam's legendary name, Engin Çağlar! Footage of the terrible accident has emerged.

In 1962, he participated in a contest run by Ses magazine and came in second. Çağlar then entered the cinema, appearing for the first time alongside Fatma Girik in the film Öksüz.

Engin Çağlar, who appeared in films such as "Kadın Değil Başbesı" , "Kınalı Yapıncak" , "Feride" , "Makber" , "Dreams Come True" and "İntizar", shared the leading roles with names such as Türkan Şoray, Hülya Koçyiğit, Emel Sayın and Neşe Karaböcek.

Engin Çağlar, who married 1971 Miss Europe Filiz Vural in 1972, had two sons named Çağlan and Eser.

Engin Çağlar, whose real name is Çağlan Övet, explained how his name changed with these words:

A late friend, a writer for Ses Magazine, said, "Your name is Çağlan Övet, but let's find a more memorable, easier name for a movie. What if your movie name were Engin?" My name is Engin, but I love the name Çağlan, and my father gave it to me. But both Engin and Çağlan end with 'n.' I said, 'Let's make it 'Çağlar' so the announcements would pick 'Engin Çağlar.' That's where the name came from. I couldn't use it, but my ID card says Çağlan Övet."
