Mert, a young high school student who made his name known for the first time on the program with the song he sang in English, described himself with these words:

''My name is Mert Özer, I am 18 years old, I am a senior in high school. I have been interested in music since I was 5-6 years old. I tried to study at music schools but I had problems due to certain resources and could not continue. I won a scholarship to Berkeley School in the USA. I have been watching O Sesi since I was little. I had chosen 4 Turkish and 2 foreign songs. I was very surprised and excited that the four of you returned. I wanted to make my choice spontaneously. I knew it would be difficult to choose but when the four of you returned, it became even more difficult. I am very excited.''
