Unable to find the quality products they needed for candle making and realizing there was a supply gap, the Kasap couple rolled up their sleeves to produce wooden candle wicks, silicone candle molds, essences, and paint themselves.

With Fatih Kasap's brother Tarık Kasap joining the team, the partners designed 600 mold models and produced 60,000 molds and 1 million wooden wicks last year.

The products are sold from the workshop and via the internet.

Aslı Kasap said that her main profession is restoring and that she has made progress in this field by using her technical knowledge.

Kasap explained that they first started out with candle production and continued:

"We bought a lot of materials. We realized that they were not up to the standard we wanted. Whatever we tried in this field, the materials didn't satisfy us technically. We didn't like the products we made with those materials either. So we started thinking about how this could be improved. A production process began."

Kasap stated that they also provide technical support to those who purchase their products, saying, "Our goal is for the customer to produce a good product with the materials they purchase. We aim to ensure that the product can be sold, that is, to make it a value."

Fatih Kasap stated that he previously worked as a mold maker in the automotive industry and that he progressed there and started programming CNC machines.

Kasap, who stated that he uses this knowledge in the machines they use to produce candle molds, said, "We're currently using small CNC machines for molds. Because I have knowledge of programming, drawing, and mold making, it's helped us progress more easily and supported us."

Kasap stated that many different materials are needed in candle making, in addition to the mold.

Kasap stated that their goal was to produce high-quality products in the decorative candle production sector, saying, "This goal has been very beneficial for us. We've developed and started importing products from abroad, as most materials are not produced in Türkiye."

Tarık Kasap explained that he had been drawing historical artifact projects and doing restoration work for many years.

Kasap stated that they used digital programming models when drawing, and that they first started with 2D drawings and then moved on to 3D modeling.

Kasap stated that he used this knowledge in mold design and said:

"Actually, the biggest thing I've brought here from my restoration career is being able to use 3D projects and create drawings. That's why we can produce molds like this. We're selling more molds. Our customers' demands are increasing. They're asking for many different things. That's how we progress. When it comes to 'molds,' there's no end to them."
