High demand for Siirt cheese: Prices start from 200 TL per kilo

Producers stated that, as in previous years, they have received orders from many provinces across Türkiye. Cheese seller İdris Baykan explained that the cheeses are dried for one or two days and then stored in cold storage.

Baykan said, "The cheese season begins in spring and continues until autumn. Our cheese comes from the Hakkari, Pervari, and Herekol plateaus. It's generally consumed by the local population. However, there's also high demand from metropolitan cities like Adana, Mersin, Istanbul, and Izmir."

Baykan also highlighted the quality of Siirt cheese, saying, "One of the best cheeses in Türkiye is from Siirt. The quality here is completely different. A kilo costs between 200 and 250 lira."
Customer Ahmet Öner said, "I buy it every year. We ship it to many provinces in Türkiye. The cheese tastes very good."
