He retired, but talent emerged: He amazes with his drawings

The most impressive aspect of these works is that he creates them entirely from his own instincts, observations, and passion. Ertürk's encounter with art dates back to a journey he began one day with pen and paper.

He prioritizes originality and naturalism in his art. Ertürk, whose work includes drawings of a martyr's mother, Corporal Seyit, caricatures, and landscapes, says he enjoys creating diverse works.

Gürsel Ertürk, announcing his retirement after 35 years as a tradesman, said, "Our workshop was affected by urban renewal, and I had to quit. I had serious stomach surgery. My daughter looked after me for six months. She said, 'Dad, you used to draw beautiful pictures of us when we were in high school.' I asked my daughter for a pen and paper. I drew a picture of Atatürk, posted it online, and the rest followed. I worked very hard."

Ertürk, who said that drawing is very good for him, said, "Drawing makes you forget everything. It makes you forget your illness, your debt, everything. You focus on the painting, and when the work is finished, it's something else entirely. I can draw simple pictures in 15-20 minutes. I can spend 4-5 hours on difficult ones. But I never give up; I keep trying. I don't even have 10 minutes of training. It's all my own talent. I've produced over 3,000 works. I have all kinds of paintings, including canvas, pencil, and color. I draw all kinds of pictures."

Ertürk, who added that painting is a wonderful hobby and art, said, "I want people to appreciate my painting talents. I'm 63 years old now. I've been drawing for 8-10 years. I'd say that's my primary hobby. My secondary hobby is fishing."
