A four-story building in Zeytinburnu collapsed, leaving the adjacent apartment building without walls.

The incident occurred on Wednesday on Arif Şentürk Street in the Veliefendi neighborhood. The four-story building was reportedly demolished as part of an urban renewal project. Upon completion of the demolition, it was discovered that the adjacent apartment building was also missing a wall. Some belongings from the apartments in the building, which lacked walls, were left amidst the rubble. No one was injured during the demolition. Residents of the apartment buildings whose apartments were damaged are awaiting compensation.
Behiye İçkili, seen sitting alone in her wallless home, said, "This incident happened two days ago. My son can't stand me because they almost beat him today. The contractor gathered a bunch of people and came. I sat there, furious, watching the work. They didn't say anything; if we raised a voice, we were immediately accused. No one was guilty. 'You demolished this place, you're going to rebuild it.' They said, 'We're not doing it.' My two armchairs and a double bed were left amidst the rubble. They won't even pay for them. I'm calling the authorities, I want my wall built. They have to do it because my son is in a bad situation and we live on my husband's salary."
