Another star from Yeşilçam has passed away... Engin Çağlar, one of the unforgettable leading men of Turkish cinema, lost his life as a result of a traffic accident.

Engin Çağlar was struck by a speeding motorcycle while trying to cross the road in Şişli yesterday. The famous actor, who was seriously injured by the impact of the accident, was taken to the hospital unconscious, but despite all efforts, he could not be saved. Footage of the horrific accident has emerged.
The tragic news was announced by the Film-San Foundation. The statement, released on the foundation's social media account, included the following:
"We offer our condolences to Engin Çağlar, one of the founding members of the Film-San Foundation and a valuable actor of Turkish Cinema, and may God have mercy on him."
Funeral Program Announced
The master actor's wife, Filiz Vural Çağlar, shared details about the funeral. Engin Çağlar will be laid to rest at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery, following the noon prayer at the Şişli Mosque on Sunday, November 2nd.
A LIFE DEDICATED TO CINEMA
Engin Çağlar's real name is Çağlan Övet, born in Istanbul in 1940. Completing his education at Şişli Terakki High School and Robert College, Çağlar later studied interior architecture in Germany.
Çağlar entered the world of cinema in 1962, placing second in a competition organized by Ses Magazine. He first appeared in the film "Öksüz" alongside Fatma Girik. He subsequently took on leading roles in many of Yeşilçam's most popular productions.
The artist, who appeared before the camera with famous actors of the period such as Türkan Şoray, Hülya Koçyiğit, Emel Sayın and Neşe Karaböcek, took his place among the unforgettable leading men of Yeşilçam with his gentlemanliness and charisma.
