The risk of seasonal illness increases during pregnancy! Influenza can be more severe

The flu vaccine, one of the most effective protection methods during pregnancy and breastfeeding, is safe to use during pregnancy because it doesn't contain live viruses and protects both the mother and the baby in the first months after birth. However, because the first three months of pregnancy are the baby's organ development period, it should be postponed unless necessary. It's important for expectant mothers in their second or third trimesters and those entering the fall and winter seasons to receive their vaccinations with a doctor's recommendation.

2- Wash your hands frequently

Frequent handwashing with soap protects against infection. When soap and water are not available, alcohol-based hand sanitizers can be preferred. Handwashing is one of the most effective ways to protect against many viruses, including influenza. If you come into contact with a person with the flu or their secretions, avoid touching your face, eyes, or nose. Hands should always be washed with soap or wiped with an alcohol-based wipe.

3- Stay away from crowded environments

The increased time spent indoors in the fall facilitates the spread of viruses. Pregnant women should minimize their time in shopping malls, public transportation, or crowded gatherings, if possible, to reduce the risk of transmission. It's important to stay away from sick people whenever possible, wear a mask when necessary, and maintain a distance of at least 1 meter in enclosed spaces.
