It has been detected in painkillers used by many people! It causes autism.
The US Department of Health is preparing to issue a warning, particularly to pregnant women, drawing attention to the possible link between acetaminophen (paracetamol), the active ingredient in the widely used painkiller Tylenol, and autism.
A study published in the peer-reviewed journal BMC Environmental Health examined 46 studies and found a possible link between acetaminophen and neurodevelopmental issues such as autism and ADHD. However, the scientists emphasized that this association doesn't provide direct cause-and-effect evidence.
REPORT FROM THE MINISTRYAccording to the Wall Street Journal, the Department of Health will release a report this month suggesting that Tylenol use during pregnancy may increase the risk of autism. Experts, however, emphasize the importance of using the drug in the lowest dose and under a doctor's supervision.
INCREASE IN AUTISM CASESAccording to CDC data, autism, which was seen in one in 150 children in 2000, is now detected in approximately one in 36. This increase is thought to be due to both increased awareness and environmental factors.
