Voluntary application increases successSenior Social Worker Rabia Alioğlu told an AA correspondent that four expert teams and two support teams provide services within YEDAM.
Alioğlu, noting the high success rate, said, "508 people received addiction counseling at Kilis YEDAM. The most important reason for our high success rate is that individuals voluntarily apply to YEDAM. Furthermore, our center adopts a holistic approach to addiction, and this process is regularly monitored through weekly meetings. Thanks to our collaborations with public institutions and non-governmental organizations in our province, referrals are increasing, and awareness of YEDAM is growing daily."
Alioğlu, stating that they aim to raise awareness about addiction across all segments of society, said, "As part of the 'independence mobilization' launched by the Green Crescent, we are explaining to all segments of society that they can receive completely free support against alcohol, drug, gambling, technology, and tobacco addiction in a safe environment at YEDAM. Our goal is to inform all segments of society, include them in this mobilization, and increase participation in the fight against addiction."
Alioğlu stated that people who received support from YEDAM had the opportunity to reorient their lives, and concluded his remarks as follows:
By participating in workshops, our clients have the opportunity to socialize and revitalize their lives. In small cities, individuals with a family history of addiction often struggle to share this with those around them. Some wrong practices, often perceived as acceptable within society, can actually deepen addiction rather than help resolve it. No one in Kilis is alone in this struggle anymore. Let's tackle addiction together.
