Türkiye elected as FAO council member

According to the information obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the selection process for FAO's council membership has been completed.

The candidacy process included Türkiye, France, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Turkey was elected as a member of the council in the European group for the period 2025-2028.

In the election in which 141 countries voted, Türkiye received 127 votes. The France-Italy partnership was brought to the council with 114 votes, and the Serbia-Ukraine partnership with 90 votes.

Russia and Belarus were eliminated as a result of the elections.
