President Erdoğan in Azerbaijan for Economic Cooperation Organization summit

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan went to the city of Khankendi in Azerbaijan by private plane "TUR" to attend the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

President Erdoğan was seen off by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül and AK Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Abdullah Özdemir from the Atatürk Airport State Guesthouse.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (TDT) Binali Yıldırım, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party and Head of Relations with Turkic States Kürşad Zorlu, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party Halit Yerebakan, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party Sevilay Tuncer and Director of Presidential Communications Fahrettin Altun and Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç also went to Khankendi.

President Erdogan to speak at the summit

As part of his visit, President Erdoğan is expected to address the summit session to be hosted by Azerbaijan, with the theme of "New Economic Cooperation Organization Vision for a Sustainable and Climate Resilient Future".

Cevdet Yılmaz will be acting president

The memorandum regarding Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz acting as the President due to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to Azerbaijan was published in the Official Gazette. According to the memorandum published in the Official Gazette, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will act as the President until President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s return from his visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan on July 4, in accordance with Article 106 of the Constitution.
