Minister Uraloğlu: Number of cruise ships calling at ports increased by 37.4 percent

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu evaluated the cruise statistics for April in a written statement. Minister Uraloğlu said, "The number of cruise ships calling at our ports in April 2025 increased by 32.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 97. The number of cruise passengers arriving at our ports in the said month increased by 40.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 104,108 passengers."

Providing information about the 4-month period covering January-April, Minister Uraloğlu said, "The number of cruise ships calling at our ports in the 4 months increased by 37.4 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 169, and the number of cruise passengers increased by 52.3 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 205,758 passengers."

'KUŞADASI IS THE PORT WHERE THE MOST SHIPS AND PASSENGERS ARRIVE'

Minister Uraloğlu, who also announced the top 3 ports with the highest number of cruise passengers in April, said, "In the month in question, Kuşadası Port, where 45 ships and 50,194 passengers arrived, was the port with the highest number of ships and passengers. It was followed by Istanbul ports with 15 ships, 25 and 300 passengers, and Izmir Port with 4 ships and 5,307 passengers, respectively."

Minister Uraloğlu stated that the ranking did not change in the first four months of 2025 and said, "In the January-April period of 2025, Kuşadası Port was the port with the highest number of passengers and ships with 75 thousand 499 passengers and 67 cruise ships."

Minister Uraloğlu noted that 34 ships and 61 thousand 667 passengers called at Istanbul ports and 18 ships and 31 thousand 944 passengers called at Izmir Port between January and April.
