Minister Şimşek: Significant slowdown in inflation has begun

Minister Şimşek's statements are as follows:
In June, monthly inflation was 1.37 percent despite rising oil prices due to geopolitical tensions. In June, where disinflation continued, annual inflation fell to 35 percent. In services where inertia is high, annual inflation fell to 50 percent after three years. Our determination in the disinflation process became evident both in the realization data and in expectations. The recent decline in commodity prices, the decreasing volatility in financial markets, improving inflation expectations and supportive demand conditions will contribute to the continuation of the decline in inflation in the second half of the year. Our citizens can rest assured; a significant slowdown in inflation has begun in many sectors from food and durable consumer goods to education, from transportation to many others, and this trend will continue.
