Latest status on minimum wage interim increase 2025: Will there be an interim increase in minimum wage in July, how much will it increase?

As of January 2025, the minimum wage, which is paid as 26,005.50 TL gross and 22,104.67 TL net, has not yet ended. Finally, an interim increase was on the agenda in 2023. This year, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan did not make a definitive statement on the subject. However, Işıkhan stated, "As the government, we have to protect the purchasing power of our citizens. We will see the beginning of a decrease in inflation. Macroeconomic data also shows this. However, if something goes wrong, a minimum wage increase may be on the agenda again in July. However, we have determined the minimum wage for one year in order to increase our trade and exports. This is why we received applause from exporters. Employers also have to see the future."

On the other hand, in another statement, Işıkhan said, ''We are not currently working on any work regarding retirees. They will receive the difference in the increase resulting from inflation and CPI in July. It is too early to talk about an interim increase in the minimum wage. We will make the necessary assessment when the time comes. It is too early for now.''

Regarding the minimum wage increase, AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler said, “These will be evaluated in a meeting chaired by our Finance Minister, Labor Minister, Cevdet Yılmaz Bey, as in previous years. Now, I cannot say that any work has been done on my own, or there would be no truth in saying whether or not it will be done. These will be evaluated when the time comes.”

With the increase in January, the minimum wage is 22,104.67 TL. The total cost to the employer is 30,621.48 TL. The minimum wage for 2024 was 20,002.50 TL gross per month and 17,002.12 TL net.

If the minimum wage is increased by 10 percent in July, the amount will increase by 2,210 lira and will become 24,314 lira.
With a 15 percent increase, it will increase by 3,315 TL and will reach 25,419 TL.
With a 20 percent increase, it will increase by 4,420 liras and reach 26,524 liras.
