Israel launches airstrikes on Beirut's Dahiya district

In a written statement, the Israeli army said it had launched attacks on what it claimed were Hezbollah’s human-made aircraft production facilities in the Dahiye region.
On the other hand, the Lebanese official agency NNA reported that Israeli warplanes carried out 7 airstrikes on the Dahiye region in southern Beirut.
It was reported that Israeli army unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were flying intensively over the Hades, Hurayk and Burj al-Barajina neighborhoods, and that there was a large migration from the region in question.
The news reported that the attacks were very violent, but did not provide further details about the nature or purpose of the attacks.
Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee shared a map on his social media account, marking four buildings in the Hades, Hurayk and Burj al-Baracine regions south of the capital Beirut.
Adraee claimed that the four buildings in the areas in question were facilities belonging to Hezbollah and requested the "evacuation" of the surrounding buildings.
Despite the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, which was reached on November 27, 2024, Israel frequently violates the agreement.
"Israel's attacks on Beirut are a clear violation of international agreements"According to the official Lebanese agency NNA, President Joseph Aoun condemned the eight airstrikes carried out by Israeli warplanes on Dahiyeh in the evening hours, saying, "These attacks are a clear violation not only of international agreements, but also of human rights, religious values and regional stability."
Stressing that Israel's attacks clearly show that it does not accept the requirements of peace and stability, Avn said, "The party that is responsible for this atrocity (Israel) is sending a message to the US and its policies; this message is being given from the heart of Beirut and through the innocent blood that has been shed. Lebanon will never accept this message."
Aoun also condemned the fact that Israel's attacks came just before a religious holiday and called on the international community to take responsibility for stopping Israel and protecting civilians.
"Israel's attacks against Lebanon are a systematic and deliberate targeting policy"Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also strongly condemned Israel's airstrikes on the Dahiyeh region south of Beirut.
"Israel's repeated threats and attacks, especially against the southern neighborhoods of Beirut, are a systematic and deliberate targeting policy against Lebanon," Selam said in a written statement.
Emphasizing that the attacks directly targeted the country's sovereignty, security, stability and economic structure, Selam stated that it was no coincidence that such violations occurred especially on the eve of religious holidays and before the tourist season.
"These attacks are a clear violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and United Nations Security Council resolution 1701," Salam said.
Israel launches two airstrikes on Ein Qana town in southern LebanonAccording to NNA, an Israeli drone attacked the town of Ain Qana, followed by Israeli warplanes striking a building that had previously been indicated as a target.
In the evening hours, the Israeli army issued telephone warnings to civilians in the towns of Dibin, Belat and Ayn Qana in southern Lebanon to evacuate their homes.
NNA also reported that Israeli warplanes were flying at medium altitude in the skies over Rashaya and West Bekaa in the southwestern part of the country.
The attacks were carried out simultaneously with eight airstrikes carried out by Israel on the Dahiyeh region south of Beirut on the same day.
This is the fourth major attack on Dahiye since the ceasefire that came into effect in November 2024.
Civilians in Dahiye began to migrate in large numbers following Israel's evacuation warnings.
The intense flight of Israeli warplanes also created panic among citizens.
