İmamoğlu's reaction to the Izmir operation: A new part of the oppressive environment that the government is trying to dominate

Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) and CHP's presidential candidate, sent a message from Silivri Prison where he is being held following the operations against the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. İmamoğlu's message, shared on his social media account called 'Presidential Candidate Office', included the following statements: "Does this country have to wake up every morning with new lawlessness, new operations, new conspiracies? Will you never allow us to talk about the real agenda of the country, the troubles of the people?

"THE DEAR NATION IS AWARE OF EVERYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING"

The dawn raids carried out in Izmir today are a new part of the oppressive environment that the government is trying to establish in the country. The sole purpose of detaining people who can be questioned by invitation in an ongoing investigation, in a dawn raid right before the big meeting to be held in Saraçhane, is to corner the social opposition a little more.

"No matter what you do, you have not been able to convince the nation of the perception you are trying to create, and you will not be able to. This dear nation is aware of everything that is happening."
