Total inflation in the first six months of the year was 16.67 percent. It was finalized that SSK, Bağ-Kur and Emekli Sandığı salaries will be increased by 16.67 percent. It was previously determined that civil servants would receive a 5 percent increase according to the collective agreement. The additional 10.57 percent increase due to the inflation rate will be reflected in civil servant salaries. Thus, civil servants will receive a total increase of 15.57 percent. With the new increases, the lowest civil servant salary will increase from 43 thousand 726 lira to 50 thousand 503 lira, while the lowest civil servant retiree salary will increase from 19 thousand 617 lira to 22 thousand 671 lira.
Following the finalization of the 6-month inflation figures, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan and TBMM AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler are meeting today to discuss increasing the minimum retirement salary. The issue of increasing the minimum retirement salary will be discussed during the meeting. While a law amendment is required for the regulation, the final shape of the bill to be submitted to the Parliament will be given. The bill will be published in the Official Gazette and will enter into force.
