Halil Umut Meler had a close encounter

Halil Umut Meler, Türkiye's only elite referee, failed a physical fitness test ahead of the new Süper Lig season. Faced with the risk of being unable to play in the new season, Meler participated in a make-up run.

According to Sözcü, Halil Umut Meler was successful in the make-up run and passed the test.

Regarding the issue, Central Referee Committee President Ferhat Gündoğdu said in a statement on Ekol TV, "Halil Umut Meler couldn't run in last week's test. He dropped out in the 36th lap. He has one more try on Thursday, and we believe he will run."

Having achieved success in the make-up run, Halil Umut Meler will be able to continue refereeing matches in the Super League.
