Emphasis on 'laying down arms' in AKP-DEM Party holiday celebrations

On the second day of Eid al-Adha, a delegation consisting of DEM Party Deputy Co-Chairman Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki, PM Members Zeyno Bayramoğlu and İhsan Seylan hosted a delegation consisting of AKP NGO and Public Relations Deputy Chairman Resul Kurt, Headquarters Women's Branch Central Executive Committee Member Tuba Özdemir and Headquarters Youth Branch Central Executive Committee Member and Election Affairs President Özge Çelik.
Speaking during the celebration, AKP member Resul Kurt said, "With Bahçeli's call and the strong support of our President, an important milestone has been covered in the Terror-Free Turkey process. In this context, disarmament is a subject that society really cares about, that finds serious response in society, and that all political parties should support. I thank you, and the DEM Party has also given very intense support to this process." Kurt noted the following:
"In this period, in this era, such a thing really hurts all segments of society. We are happy to be moving into a process that will best ensure the unity and brotherhood of our country by respecting each other's rights. Of course, what is important is that the final stage is now reached, and we expect the laying down of arms and the dissolution of the organization to gain a practical meaning. The support you will give in this process is very important. Society provides great support. I, especially as a brother who travels a lot in the region, think that this is reciprocated, that the country needs peace, unity and togetherness everywhere, in Hakkari, Van, Adıyaman, Malatya, Tekirdağ, and that moving into a new stage together with laying down arms and dissolution will bring society closer together. Common sense requires the same thing. We want a process in this country where there are laws, not weapons, a democratic environment, where people can talk to each other democratically."
'HISTORICAL PROCESS'
Tiryaki also said, "We hope that this holiday will bring peace and tranquility to our country, our region and the entire Islamic geography. As you said, Turkey is truly going through a very historic process. We politicians use this concept a lot, but it is truly a historic process for our country, a brand new page is about to open. We are going through a period when the peace we wish for is now incarnate. We hope that with the efforts of all of us, with the efforts of all political parties in this country, we will reach this goal. We will no longer talk about blood, tears and death, but about other things. We will truly establish the broken and damaged brotherhood together."
Tiryaki, who pointed out that unlike the previous solution process, almost all political parties supported this process, said:
"The Nationalist Movement Party and the Republican People's Party, which previously stood against it, also support this process. In fact, the Nationalist Movement Party is almost leading it. The main opposition party has also used positive language in all the messages it has published so far. It said that they will support it to succeed. This is very valuable. Therefore, there is a basis for social support. I hope that we will all achieve success together. Turkey is a strong country, a big country, but rest assured that it can be a stronger Turkey. A Turkey that has achieved its own internal peace can play a key role in many issues, especially the Palestinian issue, and can mediate for regional peace. The creation of this climate has made Türkiye almost the host country for the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. I am sure that if Turkey solves these problems, it will be a much stronger country economically. It will be a much more effective country in the region and it will not be a country that exports conflict, especially the Palestinian issue, but a country that exports peace. It will make a great contribution to the peace of the entire region. We are all working for this. Rest assured that we have not left any settlement unvisited in the region since the beginning of October. We are trying to tell everyone, but I think your party needs it for the socialization of peace. "The burden falls a little more. We should travel around the country a little more together. We should raise this hope a little more. After all, you are governing this country. You hold the parliamentary majority as the People's Alliance. That's why it is really pleasing for us to have you here."
