Criminal complaint filed against AKP member Özlem Çerçioğlu

Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel, whose tensions with Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu were brought to the forefront at the Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Council meeting, stated that Çerçioğlu's management of the council was unlawful and announced that they would object to the September council's decisions. Günel stated that these actions constituted abuse of power and that they would file criminal complaints against those involved with Özlem Çerçioğlu.
"HE REVEALED A WILL TO SABOT THE PARLIAMENT"
Günel, who stated that they were ignored from the very beginning of the meeting, said, "Özlem Çerçioğlu attempted to run the council in an unlawful manner, that is, in violation of the municipal council's operating regulations and the Municipal Law; and when she failed, she adjourned the meeting in an unlawful manner. While her primary duty as the Council President was to run the council in accordance with the law, she displayed a will that sabotaged the council."
Günel said, "Although I legally have the right to speak uninterruptedly as the Deputy Group Chair, this right was usurped. The motions our group wanted to put forward were not put on the agenda in an unlawful manner."
"WE WERE IGNORED"
Günel stated that there were irregularities in the voting and said:
"During the vote on the agenda items, the Speaker of the Assembly quickly asked 'those in favor or against'. It was deemed accepted without counting the votes, and the next agenda item was moved on. As Deputy Chair of the Group, despite voicing our votes loudly both on behalf of myself and my group, we were ignored.
We object to the September parliamentary session due to all these unlawful actions. As the Republican People's Party (CHP), our will has been usurped. Furthermore, these actions constitute abuse of power, according to Council of State decisions. We will file a criminal complaint against Özlem Çerçioğlu and all relevant individuals for abuse of power.
