Constitutional Court rejects CHP's HSK objection

The CHP had filed an objection with the Constitutional Court (AYM), arguing that the election of members of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK), held by the Turkish Grand National Assembly, violated both procedural and substantive principles. Following the appeal, CHP Deputy Parliamentary Group Chair Gökhan Günaydın stated, "Last night, the Turkish Grand National Assembly experienced one of its darkest nights," arguing that the HSK elections had clearly violated the law.
The Constitutional Court has issued its ruling on the appeal. The Constitutional Court rejected the application to annul the election and halt its execution. The decision was made by majority vote.
