Claims have been made that higher property taxes will be imposed on those who own two or more homes. Currently, people in Türkiye who own more than one home pay property taxes based on the current market value of each property. There is no system of compounding taxes for home purchases.

According to information obtained from sources, it was stated that there is no additional tax study for those who own more than one home, that the news does not reflect the truth, that no regulation such as a multi-level property tax has been made, and that there is no study on the package expected to be presented to Parliament.

"Tax Fairness and Reform Package" claim

Following the opening of Parliament, it was claimed that a double tax would be levied as part of the "Tax Justice and Reform Package." However, sources stated that no studies had been conducted on this matter.

Work will be done for high rates

According to NTV, the government will take authority from assessment committees regarding the property tax, which has drawn criticism due to its high increase. The new regulation will be submitted to Parliament and is expected to become law this year. The high tax rates reported in the media will also be corrected, and property taxes will be set at levels that will not harm citizens.
