Ahmet Türk's statement on reinstatement: I do not want trustees appointed to CHP municipalities

Elected Mardin Mayor Ahmet Türk made a statement regarding the trustee practices at the PKK's arms laying down ceremony in Sulaymaniyah.
Speaking to Kemal Göktaş of Kısa Dalga, Ahmet Türk responded to a question about the possibility of the trustees appointed to DEM Party municipalities being reinstated and their mayoral duties being reinstated by saying, "At this stage, I would not want such a thing to happen when trustees are appointed to CHP municipalities. I would not want to accept this. If that is the case, all trustee practices should be abolished."
The travel ban was lifted three days ago.
Ahmet Türk, who was elected mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality for the third consecutive time in the local elections held on March 31, 2024, was replaced by a trustee for the third time. Türk, who had been under an eight-year international travel ban, had his ban lifted three days before the PKK's arms laydown ceremony in Sulaymaniyah.
